Market Facilities

The purpose built 3.25 acre livestock building is capable of housing in excess of 15,000 sheep and 1,200 cattle. The 25 unloading bays along with the excellent cattle and sheep handling systems provide ease for loading and unloading as well as ensuring animal and handler welfare and safety.

The market offers a computerised billing and account management system allowing for improved customer service and guaranteeing sale receipts to all our vendor clients. 
With the introduction of the new EID tagging requirements the market has propelled itself into a full electronic identification system with technologies allowing tag numbers to be electronically read on the day of sale.

The Welshpool Livestock Sales team is made up of 8 auctioneers, an experienced group of drovers and handlers as well as a dedicated and helpful team of office staff that are on site 5 days a week to assist with all customer enquiries.

The market also has excellent catering facilities with an externally operated restaurant capable of holding in excess of 200 diners with a wide range of meals and refreshments available on each market day.


Private Function Facilities

Welshpool Livestock Sales has taken further measures to diversify from its traditional livestock routes following its redevelopment at its Buttington Cross site, by offering private function facilities available for conferences and events. 

The spacious conference rooms offer comfortable seating for up to 150 people and can be arranged to suit your requirements. The venue offers disable access, free Wi-Fi connection and onsite parking. 

Event or conference catering is also available from Hughes Caterers, who are able to offer seated dining, buffets or simply drinks & finger food. With a bar on site the venue is perfect for evening parties such as Young Farmers dinners, wedding parties or birthday celebrations.
